Mail carriers are unsung heroes who help keep us in touch with the world. Sure, there are emails, texts, and social media, but there’s nothing as personalized or intriguing as getting a delivery in the mailbox at your home.
Mail carriers deliver love letters, college application acceptances, Christmas cards, wedding invitations, your W2s for taxes, and much, much more. Traditionally, mail carriers work in rain, hail, or shine, in freezing temperatures, and blistering heat waves.
The value of that human connection can’t be underestimated, and tomorrow, on National Thank a Mail Carrier Day, you have the opportunity to thank your mail carrier for their service. Do it in person, or, if that’s not possible, leave a snack on your porch or a friendly thank-you note like these neighbors did. Whatever you do to show your gratitude will undoubtedly be appreciated.
